Background of the study
Mobile content strategies are critical for news apps striving to capture and maintain user interaction in a fast-paced digital environment. In Abuja, a prominent news app has implemented a variety of content strategies—such as real-time news alerts, multimedia stories, and interactive features—to engage its audience. These strategies are designed to provide timely and relevant information that resonates with users, thereby increasing app usage and time spent on the platform (Okoro, 2023). The evolution of mobile journalism and the increasing demand for personalized news experiences have necessitated the development of innovative content approaches that cater to diverse user interests. Research indicates that tailored mobile content can drive higher engagement metrics, including click-through rates and social sharing (Adeniyi, 2024). However, challenges such as content overload, user fatigue, and technological limitations may hinder these strategies. This study examines the effectiveness of mobile content strategies on user interaction, analyzing engagement data and user feedback to offer recommendations for enhancing digital news delivery in Abuja (Chinwe, 2025).

  Statement of the problem
News apps in Abuja often struggle with low user interaction due to generic content strategies that fail to engage diverse audiences. Despite the availability of abundant news resources, the lack of personalized and dynamic content delivery leads to diminished user interest and reduced app engagement. This study aims to identify the key factors that limit effective mobile content strategies and evaluate their impact on user interaction, ultimately affecting the app’s competitive position in a crowded digital news market (Okoro, 2023; Adeniyi, 2024).

Objectives of the study:

To assess the impact of mobile content strategies on user interaction.

To identify challenges affecting content engagement.

To recommend improvements for optimizing mobile content delivery.

Research questions:

How do mobile content strategies influence user interaction?

What challenges hinder effective content engagement?

What strategies can enhance mobile content performance?

Significance of the study
This study is significant as it provides insights into optimizing mobile content strategies to boost user interaction on news apps in Abuja. The findings will help content creators and app developers design more engaging and personalized news experiences, ultimately increasing user retention and platform success.
